 Yale - Forklift Brake Cables

Yale Forklift brake cables are essential to the braking system of a forklift. Yale brake cables are engineered to be durable even under the harshest working conditions. Yale offers high quality brake cables for a variety of forklifts.

If you try to study in depth how the braking system is structured, you will have to deal with really shocking revelations. After all, when you discover that your forklift has serious braking problems, it will be too late ... However, it's not all that scary as it would seem at first sight; the construction of the braking system is, fortunately, quite simple. For this reason, verifying the state of the elements that make up it is not a very difficult process.

The operation of your forklift's brake depends on two forces: pressure and friction. After you press the brake pedal, the pressure is transferred to all four corners of the machine, where it fills the flexible brake fluid brake tubes. As a rule, the flexible brake tube consists of a reinforced sleeve (which undergoes a very high pressure) with two spikes. The outer surface of the rubber sleeve is soaked with special substances, which have the function of increasing its protective properties.

The service life of a flexible brake tube is approximately six years. However, it must be taken into account that this device is forced to work under extremely high-pressure conditions. It would, therefore, be helpful to periodically check the condition. If you have noticed that the brake hose is losing or cracks on the surface, it should be replaced as soon as possible. Otherwise, the pressure will continue to drop and the flexible brake pipe will no longer be able to perform its function. In addition, the drainage of the brake fluid will lead to corrosion.
